Instructor Bio: Instructor Cheryl Hollingworth was a guidance counselor with Deaf children for 32 years before hanging up her educator hat and donning a cowboy hat and boots. Cheryl brings her energy, enthusiasm and sense of humor to her classroom and dance floor. Dances taught in class use those basic dance steps plus more. Instructor Bio: Instructor Cheryl Hollingworth was a guidance counselor with Deaf children for 32 years before hanging up her educator hat and donning a cowboy hat and boots. Cheryl has been country line dancing for 9 years and teaching dance for 2 years. She is also a certified Yoga instructor. Futsal: (a modified form of soccer played with five players per side on a smaller, typically indoor, field.)Futsal is played with a modified soccer ball that promotes quickness, head-up passing, and ball control skills.Open to children in grades K-5. Sessions will be split into two age groups. (K-2 and 3-5)New to Futsal? Watch this short video to gain a better understanding of the sportThe program will include two 1.5 hour sessions a week. The first 45 minutes of each session will include drills and skill building. The second 45 minutes of each session will be for 5 v 5 games amongst the participants.This is intended to be an instructional program, with friendly matches played at every session. This is not a team sport. To make teams, players will be matched up based on skill level and age groups before every game is played. Games will consist of two 20 minute halves. Substitutions will be made on the fly as needed. OR every 5 minutes to ensure playing time for all participants.The program will be led by the William S. Futsal (Indoor Soccer) - Futsal: 3 - 5
Futsal: (a modified form of soccer played with five players per side on a smaller, typically indoor, field.)Futsal is played with a modified soccer ball that promotes quickness, head-up passing, and ball control skills.Open to children in grades K-5. Sessions will be split into two age groups. (K-2 and 3-5)New to Futsal? Watch this short video to gain a better understanding of the sportThe program will include two 1.5 hour sessions a week. The first 45 minutes of each session will include drills and skill building. The second 45 minutes of each session will be for 5 v 5 games amongst the participants.This is intended to be an instructional program, with friendly matches played at every session. This is not a team sport. To make teams, players will be matched up based on skill level and age groups before every game is played. Games will consist of two 20 minute halves. Substitutions will be made on the fly as needed. OR every 5 minutes to ensure playing time for all participants.The program will be led by the William S. Summer Wrestling -- 2023 - Kindergarten - 7th Grade Wrestling Bangor Parks and Recreation along with Bangor Area Wrestling, will be offering an introduction to youth folkstyle wrestling for grades K through 12. Athletes will learn the fundamentals of wrestling through instruction, drilling, and one-on-one matches with other athletes of similar age and weight. The goal is to continue to bring this exciting sport to the Bangor area and develop a robust youth wrestling program where kids can compete, practice good sportsmanship, enjoy camaraderie, and have fun.
