Participants will learn about local geology, wildlife habitats, and backcountry safety skills along the way. Due to the length of the hike and elevation gain, hikers should be comfortable with sustained physical activity and uneven terrain. The guided experience ensures a steady pace with breaks, support, and trail interpretation throughout the day.     Pleasant Pond Mountain – October 10th Location: Bingham area (Delorme Map 30) Total Travel Time: 4 hours 20 minutes Hike Distance: 2.5 miles Estimated Hiking Time: 2 hours Elevation Gain: 1230 feet Estimated Total Duration: 6.5–7.5 hours (est. drive time 4 hours round trip total) Meet at Bangor Parks & Recreation at 7am for 7:30am departure. Along the route, participants will learn about trail stewardship, local ecology, and safe hiking practices. This trip is well-suited for newer hikers, families with older children, or anyone looking for a relaxed but scenic fall outing. General Information All guided hikes are led by a Maine Licensed Guide trained in navigation, safety, and local natural history. Participants should bring a daypack, water, lunch, appropriate layers, and sturdy hiking footwear. Weather in October can vary, so hikers should be prepared for cool temperatures, wind, and changing conditions. Transportation is included in each day’s schedule & registration fee.
