Bangor Parks & Recreation Travel Basketball is a competitive
program for experienced players in grades 3–8 who are ready for a
higher level of play and competition. Teams compete in the Eastern
Maine Basketball League (EMBBL) against programs from
communities throughout Eastern and Downeast Maine.
PROGRAM DETAILS
- Open to Bangor and Veazie residents only
- The season runs approximately late October through late January
- Players must attend tryouts to be considered for a team
- Bangor teams compete in the “A” division; when numbers allow, an additional team may be formed to compete in the “B” division
- Teams practice 1–2 times per week
- Home games are typically played on Sundays
- Away games may be played on Saturdays or Sundays
- Travel throughout Eastern and Downeast Maine is required, with some games up to 120 miles away
- Playing time is not guaranteed to be equal
- Teams may choose to participate in postseason tournaments for an additional fee
TRYOUTS
- Sunday, October 18
- Bangor High School Gym
- Players must be registered for the program before participating in tryouts.
- Registration does not guarantee placement on a team. Players who are not selected for a team will receive a full refund.
- Dates subject to change due to conflicting youth sports schedules.
