The Compete USA Learn to Skate Competition sponsored
by Sawyer Arena and Bangor Parks and Recreation will be
held at Sawyer Arena, 107 13th Street Bangor, Maine
on Sunday, January 26th, 2025 from approximately
4:10pm - 7:20pm. The arena measures 200’x 85’.

ELIGIBILITY & TEST REQUIREMENTS
The competition is open to ALL skaters who are
current members of either Learn to Skate USA and/
or those who are full members of U.S. Figure Skating
(including Aspire). Members of other organizations
are eligible to compete but must be a current
registered member of Learn to Skate USA or a full
member of U.S. Figure Skating. There will be no
more than six competitors maximum in an event,
and all six should receive an award.

Eligibility will be based on skill level as of closing
date of entries. All Snowplow Sam and Basic 1-6
skaters must skate at highest level passed or one
level higher, and NO official U.S. Figure Skating tests
may have been passed, including skating skills or
individual dances.

Special Olympics events are for skaters with
intellectual disabilities. Skate United events are
for skaters with physical disabilities. Skate United
skaters have the option to compete in the standard
track or Skate United track; accommodations may
be made upon request. Adaptive events are for
skaters with any type of disability.

YOU MUST REGISTER BELOW TO COMPETE IN
THE COMPETITION!!

(THOSE INVOLVED WITH BANGOR LESSONS
ARE ALREADY MEMBERS)

ENTRIES AND FEES
All entries must be signed up online by
January 14th, 2025. Late entries will be accepted
only if time allows, at the discretion of the organizing
committee. Entry fees are per person, in U.S. dollars.
The first individual event is $40.00, each additional
individual event is $15.00, and the team event is
$10 per skater. NO refunds after closing date unless
event is canceled.

ENTRY FORMS MUST BE FILLED OUT COMPLETELY

Bangor Parks and Recreation. Checks should be made out to 
Bangor Parks and Recreation Department or City of Bangor

There will be a $30.00 fee for returned checks. 
Late Fee: Additional $10.00.

AWARDS
Everyone will receive an award. All events will be
final rounds. Award ceremonies will be placed
throughout the competition schedule.

Times will be announced at a later date. Practice ice information will be e-mailed after the close of entries.

ELIGIBILITY FOR COACHES/INSTRUCTORS
To be credentialed at a Compete USA event, individuals coaching members are required to have:
• Learn to Skate USA Instructor membership OR U.S. Figure Skating full membership
• SafeSport training completed (for coaches/instructors 18 years old and older)
• Background check successfully passed (for coaches/instructors 18 years old and over)
• Learn to Skate USA Instructor Certification completed OR U.S. Figure Skating compliant
coach (for coaches under 18 years old)
