Scenic Paddling
2 Separate Courses Offered during the month of July and 1 in August!
$60 per course / $65 for Non residents
July 13th, 20th & August 5th
8 AM - 2 PM

NOW OPEN TO THE WHOLE FAMILY!
(Adults must register with a child to participate)
Personal flotation devices, paddles, and canoes are provided.
Pack a lunch, water bottle, and 
sunscreen.
For safety purposes, we require that participants must be able to swim.

Offering Instruction In...






  • Water safety / rescue techniques


  • Proper fitting of personal flotation devices & paddles


  • Paddle strokes


  • Wildlife watching


  • Tree / plant and bird identification


  • Paddling trip after instruction to apply the learned skills and knowledge








About the Instructor
About the Instructor
Jim Fahey is offering various dates to teach Scenic Paddling and Wildlife Watching Tours for 7th - 10th graders at Hermon Pond. Jim has experience with this age group as he and his wife Shelley have raised 2 children. Jim is a registered Maine Guide and retired in 2019 as a State of Maine Game Warden. Jim currently works at the outside security officer at Bangor High School. He has been a licensed guide since 1999 and has guided countless people on hunting, fishing and paddling trips during that time. Additionally, Jim has guided boy scouts on extended Allagash River canoe trips and coached little league baseball.
